Due to substantial growth in our clients Online E-Commerce Division based in Woking they currently have an excellent opportunity for a Data Warehouse Senior Developer.
Duties will include:
·Development, maintenance and support of new functionalities for the company's data warehouse;
·Analysis of business and user requirements and production of functional specifications;
·Project implementation from inception through development and support;
·Testing and deployment of data warehouse functionality;
·Resolving problems on specific platforms.
·Team management
The ideal candidate will come from an IT or Scientific academic background and will have relevant experience in IT data warehouse design and software development. You will have experienced of all stages of the development lifecycle (specification, development, testing and implementation). You will be a ‘self starter' with a ‘hands on' attitude, and you will liaise with the projects stakeholders and the other department users creating the relevant software that will satisfy their requirements.
Technologies used will include Oracle Data Integrator (ODI), Oracle 10G, SQL and PL/ SQL and Unix shell scripting.
Experience will include:
High Volume, High performance data warehouses.
Database design for Star Schema structures, De-normalisation,
Large volume tables, partitioning and indexing.
Extraction, cleaning, manipulation, and transformation of data using commercial ETL tools such as Oracle Data Integrator (Sunopsis)
SQL, PL/ SQL SQLloader also an advantage.
Experience of tuning large data volumes.
Experience of Management reporting
Experience of UNIX shell scripting.
Collection and documentation of user requirements
You may have some experience using commercial Business Information products like Oracle BI(Siebel Analytics) and or Hyperion Essbase
